Happy birthday Marie

Happy Birthday Marie! I hope your day is full of sprinkles.

Here is the birthday card and the gift bag that I made for her and gave to her last night. She and Dustin came over and had cake with us. More wild fun ensued when they tried out the lazer pointer with the cats and played with our monkeys.
I used my new papaers from Stampin Up to make the card and gift bag. I got them and some of my other supplies from the Sale-A-Bration event that they have every February. If you spend a certain amount you get a free stamp set. This year you could also choose ribbon or a pack of papers. I chose the pretty papers. I used one 12" X 12" sheet to make 2 cards and this gift bag. I made it go a long way. (Don't you love that?)

I just kind of winged it with the card and bag. I didn't follow a sketch or have an idea in mind. I just tried to enjoy trying out my new supplies. Looking at them this morning I see that I got a little carried away with the pearl stickers. (Sorry, they are just so pretty)
What is in the bag? She got two books and a t-shirt from the Cake Wrecks blog. I hope she enjoys them.

Happy birthday to those comming up.

Hey, I actually spent a little time making some cards yesterday. We have a few birthdays comming up.

This first one was done with some pre-packaged cards and envelopes that I got in the hot spot at work.
This one is my favorite. I lined the envelope with a paper stamped with the same butterfly stamp. I love that I make it so it opens by rotating it where the brad is inserted at the top.
I was able to bend the stamp, that has the greeting on the front, around a curve. I'd seen this done on the internet before, but never tried it myself. It actually works! You can't see it in the photos, but I used my stardust pen to add a little shimmer to the wings of the butterfly.
This last one I did with watercolor paper. I used my die cutting system to cut out the flower and then water colored it. I dry embossed a little line around each petal. It might be hard to see in the photos. I stitched the circle with my wonderful Bazzil stencil.
This last photo is the valentines we gave out for the kid's class. They are about 2" by 4". I kept it simple and small. We had to make 50 after all.
I think that today I'm going to be making some more. I'll also be making some items to post in my Etsy shop. Please take a look. Don't forget to forward a link to anyone you think might be interested.

This crazy cat!

Dear sweet people out there. Our cat is weird. What is that you say? Maybe she is just funny and active. No, I'm pretty sure she has a screw loose.

Here is photographic evidence. Any time that someone is using the laptop she is right there. She is obsessed with the cursor. She puts her ears forward and watches it wherever it goes. Then she attacks! At first she just patted the screen. Now she gets more aggressive and really tries to get it. This morning I sat down and she was right here next to me immediatly. She totally jumped at the screen and used her claws. The more the cursor moves the more pissed she seems to get. I think eventually she might actually get it.
Here she is in the tub. Every day the kids take a shower. She sticks her head in and watches. This isn't so weird, but she has climbed in. Every day when the showers are over she has to inspect the drain afterwards. She even drinks from it which kind of bothers me. To the girl's delight she also plays with the drips that come down from the shower head.
Oh, yeah. Here she is trying to go to Kindergarten. Um, Nala, I don't think so.
This one isn't so crazy, just cute. She , like any cat, likes secret hiding spots. I had to buy a new rug for in front of the front door. She was constantly under it! If we left the house, we couldn't get back in because the rug would be wadded up in front of it.
If you haven't met her yet you need to stop by. I bought a lazer pointer the other day. If I can get photos, (it's hard because she is moving so fast,) I'll post again with more evidence.
Enjoy your day.

Creative

Hey there everyone. It's been awhile. I was creative last month. I made a couple of cards that I wanted to share. The first one is this little number with the bird. I got the Quikutz die at Hobby Lobby half price. I coudn't wait to try it out. I free handed the branch out of some scrap chocolate brown I had laying around. I put the bird on the branch and foam pop dotted it's wing. The heart is also a Quikutz die. The word love is a Stampin Up! stamp.
The second card was done with my new Hero Arts stamp set. The "Thank You" that I stamped twice at the bottom didn't get spaced just right. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I stamped the dolls on watercolor paper and then colored them with my water color pencils.
I let them dry and then adhered them to the card with foam pop dots.

On the inside I had to try the cute scalloped border stamp that came with the set.

Last month I also did a fair amount of scrapbooking. I also made the valentines for Sarah and Theresa's class. I had to make 52. It was quite a chore. I'll be posting some pics of that soon.
I hope some of you have been a little creative lately. If you have post a comment with a link to your pics. I would love to see what you have been working on.
