Art Journaling

I have been working on making creative time every day, still. I have been making cards and working in my art journal. I love working in the art journal. I don't feel restricted when I create in the the journal. When I make a card or a scrapbook page I have to stick with a theme that makes sense for the project at hand. In the journal I can use whatever supplies I want and smash them all together in whatever way I want. I also love that I can use whatever stamp, or quote I want and create around that. I can be as dimensional as I want as well. (No worrying about whether the project will fit in an envelope or a page protector.

This first page I did in about three stages. I would do a little bit and then need to do something else, so  I would leave it to dry. I would come back later and keep going. This first one was fun. I love how many layers I put in.

This next one is quite simple. I just loved the quote so much and I wanted to play around with my sparkly pens. SPARKLY PENS!!

This one I hated at first. I wanted to use my distress stains. I smeared them around and got a big mess. I decided to take a page out of Donna Downey's book and just keep building on top of the mess . I didn't want to give up.  Now I love it. I stamped a background and that helped. The momentum I got from that kept me trying.  I had fun using these Prima flowers I had and folding them over to make a 3D flower. I used gems in each one to look like the center of each flower.

I love working in this book. It doesn't have to be perfect. That is the most freeing part. I am just doing these pages for fun. I learn how the supplies work together and I am trying things that I want to try. I don't have to worry how it turns out because I'm not giving it away like a card. I don't have anyone else in mind except myself, so I just create what I feel at the time. :-)

I'll be back soon to share some cards. Thanks for stopping by to see. Happy Crafting!
